Why We Have a Strict No-Refund Policy
CramUp is a digital-only educational platform. Every book, unit, chapter, test, and previous year question paper is delivered electronically and is accessible immediately upon confirmed payment. Digital content cannot be physically returned — once you have access to a page, that content has been delivered and consumed.
The academic nature of our content creates additional complexity: a student cannot "unlearn" the material after reading it, and the value of the product is inseparable from the act of accessing it. Permitting refunds after access has been granted would incentivise bad-faith use of the platform and would undermine the sustainability of a platform built to make high-quality academic content affordable.
What "Purchase" Means on CramUp
A "purchase" on CramUp refers to any of the following transactions that results in access being granted to paid content:
- Purchase of a single book (any semester)
- Purchase of a Semester Bundle (all books for one semester)
- Purchase of a Full Degree Plan (all books across the 2-year BEd programme)
- Any other paid plan or bundle offered on the platform now or in the future
A purchase is considered complete and the product delivered at the moment your payment is confirmed — whether via UPI, QR code, Razorpay (card, net banking, wallet), or any other method accepted on the platform. From that moment, the no-refund policy is in full effect.
Free Preview — Your Protection Before You Buy
We do not ask you to purchase blindly. Before any transaction, CramUp provides:
- Chapter 1 of every book — free, no account required. This gives you a clear, substantive sample of our writing quality, content depth, and compression style.
- Publicly visible table of contents for every book, so you know exactly what units and chapters are included before you commit.
- Pricing information that is always displayed clearly before you reach the payment screen.
By proceeding to purchase after reviewing this information, you confirm that you have made an informed buying decision. This free-preview policy is our primary consumer protection mechanism, and it is the basis on which our no-refund policy rests.
What Is and Is Not Covered
The table below summarises common scenarios and whether a refund or remedy is available:

Access Duration and Technical Issues
Each purchase type on CramUp carries a defined access period:
- Single Book: 2 years from date of purchase (default; adjustable by administrator)
- Semester Bundle: Duration of the relevant semester (approximately 4–6 months from purchase date)
- Full Degree Plan: 2 years from date of purchase, covering both years of the BEd programme
Access expiry is not grounds for a refund. You are purchasing time-limited access to digital content, and that access period is communicated clearly at the time of purchase.
Technical issues: If you experience a technical problem that prevents you from accessing content you have purchased — such as a platform outage, a content loading error, or a login problem — you must notify us within 14 days by emailing hello@cramup.in. We will investigate and, where the fault lies with our platform, extend your access period by the equivalent time lost. We will not issue a monetary refund for technical issues.
Payment Disputes and Chargebacks
Filing a payment dispute or chargeback with your bank, card issuer, or payment processor after purchasing on CramUp — without first contacting us — is a violation of these terms. We will:
- Immediately suspend the associated account pending investigation
- Provide full purchase evidence (transaction ID, timestamp, IP address, account creation record) to the payment processor and your bank
- Contest the chargeback on the grounds that the digital product was delivered in full at the moment of payment
- Permanently ban the account from CramUp if the chargeback is found to be fraudulent or made in bad faith
If you have a genuine payment concern — such as an unauthorised charge on your account — please contact us at hello@cramup.in before initiating a dispute. We will investigate promptly and, where an error has occurred on our end, resolve it without requiring you to file a dispute.
Duplicate Payments
A duplicate payment occurs when your account is charged more than once for the exact same purchase within the same session, due to a payment gateway error or network timeout. This is the only scenario in which a monetary refund may be issued.
To claim a duplicate payment refund:
- Email hello@cramup.in with the subject line: "Duplicate Payment — [Your Phone Number]"
- Attach or paste both transaction IDs / UPI reference numbers
- Include the date and approximate time of the transactions
We will verify the duplicate within 2–3 business days and refund the extra charge to the original payment method within 7–10 business days of verification. Refunds are processed via the original payment method only (UPI to the originating UPI ID, card to the originating card).
Governing Law
This No Refund Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from or in connection with this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India.
By completing a purchase on CramUp, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this No Refund Policy in its entirety.
