All sales are final — no refunds are issued under any circumstances, except verified duplicate payments. CramUp sells digitally delivered educational content. Access is granted immediately and irrevocably upon confirmed payment. This constitutes full delivery of the digital product. No refund will be issued regardless of whether content has been read, used, or how much access time remains — except in the single exception described in Section 7.

Section 1

Legal Basis and Rationale

CramUp is a digital-only educational platform. Every book, unit, chapter, test question, previous year question paper compilation, and flowchart is delivered electronically and is accessible in full immediately upon confirmed payment. No physical product is shipped.

Under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (India) and established principles of e-commerce law, once a digital product has been delivered and the consumer has had access to it, the product is considered consumed. Digital content cannot be physically returned, unread, or repossessed. The value of educational content is inherently inseparable from the act of accessing it — a student cannot "unlearn" material they have read.

Permitting refunds after access has been granted would create an irremediable information asymmetry and would incentivise bad-faith use of the platform — allowing users to access and copy content and then seek a refund. This would directly undermine the sustainability of a platform built to make high-quality academic content affordable to students across India.

Our commitment in exchange: Before you spend a single rupee, Chapter 1 of every book on CramUp is available to read for free — no account required. Our no-refund policy is built on this foundation. If you are uncertain about a book's quality, style, or coverage, read the free chapter and review the table of contents first. These are always available before you reach the purchase screen.
Section 2

What "Purchase" Means on CramUp

A "purchase" on CramUp refers to any transaction that results in paid content access being granted to an account, including:

A purchase is considered complete and the product delivered at the moment your payment is confirmed — whether via UPI, QR code scan, Razorpay (debit/credit card, net banking, or digital wallet), or any other accepted payment method. From the moment of confirmed payment, this No Refund Policy is in full effect.

Payment-first model: CramUp creates your account automatically from the phone number and email address you provide at checkout. You do not register before paying. If you entered incorrect contact details during payment, contact us immediately at hello@cramup.in. Failure to do so may result in delayed or lost access. Providing incorrect details does not entitle you to a refund.
Section 3

Free Preview — Your Protection Before You Buy

CramUp does not ask you to purchase content sight-unseen. Before any transaction, you have access to:

By proceeding to purchase after this information has been made available to you, you confirm that you have made an informed purchase decision. The free preview is our primary consumer protection mechanism, and is the basis on which this no-refund policy rests.

Section 4

What Is and Is Not Covered

The table below summarises common scenarios, whether a monetary refund is available, and what (if any) alternative remedy exists:

Scenario Refund? Alternative Remedy
Changed mind after purchase No None — purchase is final upon payment confirmation
Did not read the free preview before buying No None — free preview was available before purchase
Content not useful / did not help in exam No None — educational outcome is not guaranteed
Purchased wrong book by mistake No Contact us — we may transfer access at our sole discretion
Verified duplicate payment (same item charged twice) Yes Refund processed within 7–10 business days of verification (see Section 7)
Platform outage preventing access No refund Access period extended by the verified outage duration upon request

Account suspended or terminated for policy violation No None — suspension is a direct consequence of the violation
Payment deducted but account access not granted Yes, or access granted Contact us within 48 hours with payment reference; access granted or payment refunded
Purchase made through referral or affiliate link No Same policy applies regardless of how the purchase was made
Content does not match current university syllabus version No Content corrections made where reasonably practicable; see Terms of Use Section 16
Access period expired before content was used No None — access duration is communicated clearly at purchase and begins from payment date
Section 5

Access Duration and Technical Issues

Each purchase type carries a defined access period:

Access expiry is not grounds for a refund. You are purchasing a time-limited licence to access digital content, and the duration is clearly communicated before payment is made. Access begins from the date of confirmed payment — not from the date you first open a book.

Technical access issues: If a technical problem on CramUp's end prevents you from accessing content you have legitimately purchased — such as a platform outage, a content-loading error, or a login system failure — you must notify us within 14 days by emailing hello@cramup.in with the subject line "Technical Access Issue — [Your Phone Number]". We will investigate. Where the fault is demonstrably with our platform, we will extend your access duration by the equivalent verified time lost. We will not issue a monetary refund for technical disruptions.

Device limit errors: If you are locked out due to a device-limit error and are unable to access your content, contact support immediately. This is treated as a technical access issue and will be resolved — it is not grounds for a refund.
Section 6

Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

Filing a payment dispute, chargeback, or reversal request with your bank, card issuer, UPI payment app, or Razorpay — without first contacting CramUp and allowing us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the matter — is a violation of these Terms of Use and may constitute fraud under applicable Indian law.

In the event of a chargeback or payment dispute, CramUp will:

If you have a genuine concern about an unauthorised charge on your payment instrument, please contact us first at hello@cramup.in with the subject line "Payment Concern — [Your Phone Number]". We will investigate and resolve genuine errors promptly, without requiring you to initiate a formal dispute with your bank.

Section 7

Duplicate Payments — The Only Refund Exception

A duplicate payment occurs when your payment instrument is charged more than once for the identical purchase within the same session, caused by a payment gateway error, network timeout, or browser double-submission. This is the only scenario in which CramUp will issue a monetary refund.

A duplicate payment is not:

To submit a duplicate payment refund request:

  1. Email hello@cramup.in with the subject line: "Duplicate Payment — [Your Registered Phone Number]"
  2. Include both transaction IDs or UPI reference numbers (both charges)
  3. Include the date and approximate time of the transactions
  4. Include a screenshot of both charges from your bank statement, UPI app, or Razorpay receipt if available

We will verify the duplicate within 2–3 business days. If verified, the duplicate charge will be refunded to the original payment method within 7–10 business days of verification. Refunds are processed exclusively via the original payment method — UPI refunds go to the originating UPI ID; card refunds go to the originating card. We cannot refund to a different account or instrument.

Section 8

Consumer Rights Under Indian Law

CramUp's No Refund Policy is drafted in accordance with Indian consumer protection law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Information Technology Act, 2000, and applicable e-commerce regulations.

Under Indian law, digital goods and services that have been delivered and accessed by the consumer are generally non-refundable, consistent with this policy. CramUp's free-preview mechanism — providing Chapter 1 of every book at no cost before purchase — satisfies the principle of informed consumer consent prior to a transaction.

If you believe CramUp has engaged in an unfair trade practice or a deficiency of service as defined under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to file a complaint with the appropriate Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. Before doing so, we strongly encourage you to attempt resolution through our Grievance Officer (contact details in Section 10) to allow us the opportunity to address your concern directly.

Deficiency of service: If content you have legitimately purchased is inaccessible due to a fault on our platform — and you have notified us within 14 days as described in Section 5 — we treat this as a service deficiency and will provide a remedy (access extension or technical fix). This is our preferred resolution mechanism and is offered before any formal consumer complaint process becomes necessary.
Section 9

Governing Law

This No Refund Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute arising from or in connection with this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India.

By completing a purchase on CramUp, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this No Refund Policy in its entirety. This policy forms part of the binding agreement between you and CramUp Educational Services, together with the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
